Exclusively from premier cru vineyards, the Cuvee les Dames Hospitalières “(Ladies of the Hospital”) consists of three plots:

• 1.06ha: Bressandes          • 1.13ha: Mignotte        • 0.55ha: Teurons.


Tradition holds that the Hospices auction always begins with the sale of this Cuvee, named after the nuns who cared for the sick from 1443 when the institution was founded. Originally from St Omer in northern France, these nuns completed their training at the hospice in Valenciennes, located on the current Franco-Belgian border.





Around Volnay, "Comblanchien" limestone disappear to be replaced by  "rauracien" limestone. Going down the hillside, presence of thick, white, grey, yellow and red marls. At the foot of the hillside : limestones mixed with clays.

Exposure is east in due south

Elevation : 220 and 300 meters in height
